Geiger-Mueller tubes are frequently rated on the basis of the slope of the plateau region. The slope of the plateau region of halogen-quenched tubes is usually less ﬂat than that of organic-quenched tubes (2–3% per 100 volts). But halogen-quenched tubes can usually be operated at a lower voltage than organic-quenched tubes."
