You Will Need

1 lb. unsalted butter, softened 1¾ c. granulated sugar 2 c. packed light brown sugar 4 large eggs 6 c. flour 1 tbsp. salt 2 tsp. baking powder 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tbsp. vanilla extract 3 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips 2 cookie sheets Electric mixer Cooling rack or plate Parchment paper (optional) PLAY

Step 1: Preheat oven

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and set aside two greased cookie sheets.

Tip: You can line your pans with parchment paper instead of butter, shortening, or spray. PLAY

Step 2: Cream butter and sugars

Using the electric mixer, cream together the butter and sugars in a large mixing bowl. PLAY

Step 3: Gradually add eggs

Add the eggs gradually, beating after each addition. PLAY

Step 4: Mix in flours

Mix in the flour. Add the remaining ingredients, mixing well after each addition. PLAY

Step 5: Place cookies on pan

Use a tablespoon to scoop the cookies onto the baking sheets, 2 inches apart. PLAY

Step 6: Bake cookies

Bake the cookies for 15 minutes or until they're golden brown. Remove them from the oven and cool on the cookie sheets for three minutes before transferring to a cooling rack or plate. PLAY
